Lost his brother to the sport, was involved in a fight where a man got seriously hurt and has lost a son. Of course he has strong opinions on this. God bless him
But it’s a disguised to dig out his son in a non-sensical way, this man try’s to talk about the being the pillar of morality but once got caught paying off a bird 30,000 who he knocked up to fuck off, he’s an incredible fighter but narcissistic and I’d go as far to say possibly undiagnosed bipolar disorder
Amen brother
Doesn’t need to call his son a disgrace publicly though
@@brianlafev4261 hes right though, sr is a man of principle where being world champion was more important and jr just thinks about the money he can make, so they dont have the same goal so hes right he cant be in his corner, can you imagine if after the fight conor pops for peds again, and jr ends up in hospital with something serious.. i preferred the eubank jr fights when his dad was training him because he was an animal and i think he could of been world champion by now but instead he calls out big names, DOESNT fight any of them and fights szerumeta and then fights conor 2 weight classes down.. he belongs on misfits now and i can see how snr is embarrassed of him
Eubank Jr isn't going to stop boxing. The reason he got into boxing in the first place was because of his father. That being said, he is campaigning for a noble cause. But, he should still stand in his son's corner.
He tries his best to pass a message of class. I wish there were more like him.
Yeah but money talks.

He’s just being himself, I have listened to him for thirty five years and nothings changed
To be fair, he's standing on business, and I respect it.
I have met this man - an honourable man to the core. He is a true warrior in and out of the ring. Massive respect to this God fearing spirit led man. He speaks the truth in love - you are a real one Mr Eubank senior.
I'd be proud of a father like this with his morals and attitude. I'd know he was looking after me.
Yep
Absolutely!
He wants to control his sons life and every aspect of it pal. Mon eh Jr 👍
I agree however there is also argument that his son is a grown man and mature enough to make his own choices and it’s in a very rare situation where he is in effect representing his fathers legacy and name and I would argue needs his father by his side going into this war, ultimately should his father put his own opinion aside and back his son. It’s a difficult position for him however if my father didn’t back me in a fight like this I’d find it hard to forgive
He's a narcissist and very likely a physcopath this is how they react when they can longer control their children rhey ridicule them
Box office in the ring, Box office in interviews. What legend.
What a great interview, and how good is this man for highlighting the importance of the profession of boxing. It's not a game for utubers, etc. Listen to him. He knows what he's talking about. Legend!
Keeps us all watching doesn’t he
Perfect comment!
He’s spot on. I see this throughout our culture let alone in boxing. Values are beyond sport and Snr is a true man . Which is so rare today .
Crazy times fr
He's a egocentric person. His son wanted to do things his own way . His life his career. His dad should be supporting him instead of being a ego dickhead
@ I agree he is eccentric also has a ego and for sure his son should try and be independent, however he’s correct on this. It’s very simple
Sorry, worthy words but Snr is super-idealistic about the boxing world; promoters, managers and fighters. It was a dirty business before him... is now... and will be after him! No point jumping to laud his words when it bears no resemblance to what modern boxing is...!
@ if you watched the interview- he’s just said what you have said but more articulate. That was his whole point lad. What you have done in your comment is just say “oh well, no point holding values because no one else is”. He spoke about standard bearers or did you miss that point.
Very articulate speaker and what he says is so true
He sounds like an English yoda
Eubank is a real man, humble and respectful gentleman. We need more of this in the world.
Anyone mocking this man’s sentiment should feel ashamed. Every man thinks that his burden is the heaviest, but try to understand what a man’s burden means to him.
Are you going to watch the fight?
Try to understand what a Narcissist is and what Eubank senior is ACTUALLY trying to achieve.
He’s just a sanctimonious hypocrite telling people they shouldn’t get in the ring and be part of the circus when he did exactly the same thing.

That's why he is not going to be there
Integrity
His son is an adult, maybe he doesn't feel like he needs his dad there for a start? He's got to live his own life I guess but is dad is right on this.
but jr has already said he isnt going to listen to his dad so theres no point in him being there even for support as they both want different things its a hindrance, its a farce anyway it literally doesnt even mean anything, making out like its a massive grudge match when its not lol the dads been friends for years and their sons had zero issue, its just soo silly they are different weights at different points in their careers and both have excuses to fall back on once one of them loses, booooorrrrrriiiiiiinggggggggg
Always has been the true gentleman.
Love you Chris
He is right hydration clause is dangerous.
But so are size differences.
Don't take the fight then. Sounds like a victimhood mentality.
Yup. Otherwise voluntary rehydration clauses put into a contract is certainly one of the things I hate most about modern day boxing. Same energy to everyone i.e Tank & Canelo get no credit from me for the Garcia/Barrios/Jacobs/Kovalev wins- At the end of the day they beat a handicapped opponent point, blank period.
@@louduva9849 Rehydration clauses are significantly more dangerous- I can't even think of a fight subject to a rehydration clause outside of Loma vs Rigo where the bigger man won. (& a 10lbs clause would be FAR more detrimental to a 160lber who competed at 168 for 2 years)
but eubank jr can just come in overweight and pay the fine, it's really not a problem

He should say this to his son directly in stead of ignoring him and bashing his son to journalists.
Not being in your sons corner for bashing an egg in his opponents face who failed 2 drugs tests and blamed it on eggs?
Bruh.
No
He's not been in his sons corner because of the weight difference between them and he is sticking to his principles.

Class Act - in and out of the ring..
chris is a remarkable man and stands head and shoulders above others who need not be mentioned
He's right, Michael Watson was abandoned by the sport. I think bricktop was his manager at the time, and he couldn't distance himself fast enough.. Watson wasn't a draw. He had all the talent but none of the personality of the likes of Eubank and Benn, and his fight purses reflected this. He gave Eubank the toughest fight of his career that night. Then tragedy, and a piece of Eubank was also lost that night, Eubank isn't a monster, he has a heart, and to this day you can see he still feels bad about it. he may have come to terms with it, but he never really got over it.
Fucking hell. Watching this i feel for senior. He’s 100% right

The greatest moment in boxing was when he told Junior to stick to the body to protect the other fighter from serious damage. Class act. ❤
Never do things in anger that you will regret in the future. Be at the fight snr and back your boy.
His boy should listen to the old man. After all, the old man is only trying to protect his son.
Junior is his own man now, ultimately he HAS to make his own decisions in life and his dad needs to recognise that.
@@PaulWhittaker-qt5do Junior is his own man. Plus this is the fight game, in senior's own words a "mug's game". I love senior, but there's no way I could knock Junior taking that massive fight. i love when he drops the shield and gives us the actual chris eubank snr.
classy bloke throughout his life, never changed his character. top man
I'm no psychologist but I've taken away from Chris Eubank Snr and Chris Jr and their relationship is typical of that father and son relationship where the father says to the son, not to DO, and the son defies the father and DOES it anyway. In fact the more you scream not to, the more the son wants to. Chris Senior needs to STOP. He must understand that your son is not YOURS- he is a separate person/ entity, autonomous from you. We come through our parents into this world, I understand that but yet we are our own individual persons. It's hard to understand but once you do, you'll let go and true freedom will come to both parties involved.
Exactly, this is coming from a place of ego and bitterness that jr wanted to go his own way in the sport. If he was really that concerned for jr he would be with him right now, and be there at the fight incase the worst does happen!
This is just a typical situation where -as you said- the child has disobeyed the father, so now the child must pay the repercussions! It's more of a get back than it is over any safety. I whole heartedly believe that. Otherwise he would say nothing on the matter. But he continues to belittle he's own son practically daily at this point! While simultaneously earning money off his opinions on the fight on his new RUclips channel!
Completely agree. And this fight will go ahead. Sr is using the weight & rehydration clause as cover for his broken relationship with his son. He doesn't like the people Jr has chosen to work with. He has some good points about the sport in general but his rate is about his son choosing his own path
* rage
Good points totally in agreeance!
I make Chris 100% right. If you do not respect what he is saying then you’re deaf. True warrior who understands the warrior code. A man of conviction who speaks the truth.

You don't support your children in making mistakes. Ridiculous
@dwaynesamuels2543 why is it a mistake? Then he shouldn't have supported him in the first place, picking boxing as a career.
@@dwaynesamuels2543your children aren’t you, they’ll make mistakes and as a parent you can only advise and be there if shit goes wrong
@@claytontarrant9978 it's a medical fact that a dehydrated fighter has less fluid around his brain protecting the brain from injury. Senior knows this too well. Which is why he's saying box but do it right, the rules are there for a reason. Even the ibf has increased their rehydration to 12lbs now for safety so this is dangerous for both fighters.
@@seanking6184 if my son was leaving my house with a knife I'd stop him, I wouldn't support him after the police lock him up. I'm his dad's eyes who lost a son already and permanently injured a fighter himself, this is dangerous and potentially fatal. Scientific evidence supports him

Eubank Sr went up 3 weigh classes to fight Carl Thompson at cruiserweight from middleweight. I get what Chris is saying here but BACK YOUR BOY! I totally get what he's saying re the dangers of boxing, with his own experience with michael and jr's with blackwell but no rules were broken. The issue I have with this fight is the rehydration clause for a non-title fight which is snake-like tactics by Matchroom and Hearn. This should NOT be allowed and I stand with Sr. on this.
This being said, he himself went up 3 weight classes so just back your son now as this fight is going ahead. He will need strength and by not being there you could be putting him in more danger without your support.
Sr says a lot right and his heart means well, it is very pure, but his ego is running amuck here and the trauma of the past is haunting him. His son is a grown man and he's chosen to take this fight and he should back him as a father regardless.
Completely agree with you. Especially on the point of him not being present could actually put him in more danger. As a father myslelf. Id sat my piece and back him regardless. But I understand it must be complicsted for him and alot of conflict going on mentally.
snr is not a puppet..chris jnr is 35 years old..if he wants to make bad decisions for money under the guise of upholding the family name, then do not expect snr to be a puppet, jnr is not Snrs boss...this is bigger than snr sitting at a table listening eddie hearn being an asshole and conor promising to render his son unconscious, why would he want any part of that...
Without Sr. There would be no EubankJr. All the hard work and harder earned knowledge, he passed down to his son. An enormous amount of sacrifices was involved. Jr now allows sponges to take the place of his beloved father to enjoy and inherit the rewards of his father.
Sr should be the bigger man and be in his sons corner.

Loved that he spoke about Christ and Faith, couldn’t have said it any better. Great words spoken Sir Eubank - Salute.
Silly silly man support your son you’d never forgive yourself if anything happened move past it an put your ego aside
Well spoken, Sir Eubank, a true people's champ 🏆
A honest kind hearted gentleman ✨️
People are dumbasses talking stupid about Sr. If you have children, then you understand what Sr is saying. If not then, whatever. Bout a father should stand by his son no matter what. So if my son does harm to someone. I should stand by him regardless because his my son? You must be mad. Sr lost a son already, you want him to lose another? l agree with Sr. That's like a 200ibs v 120ibs..... i stand by him and hope its cancelled. If not, I'd choose Jr to win.
Regardless, he should understand that at the end of the day, taking the fight is his son's choice, and clearly it's a choice he wants to make. He can disagree with it, but regardless he should stick with him, and do anything in his power to minimise the risk to his son (e.g., helping him train, supporting him so he's not emotionally distracted etc).
What if Eubank Jr does get hurt, becomes disabled, loses his life during the fight? And his dad's just sat at home.
You know his son has fought at 160 most of his career yeah?
So your analogy of 200 v 120 is nonsense.
It's his fighting weight, benn is coming up so what's the problem?
